It might surprise you to know that the most successful people have one thing in common. What is it?
They fail… a lot.
But they don’t fail for the sake of failing. They fail because they try a LOT of things. In other words, they experiment all the time.
Michael Simmons, mental modeler extraordinaire, has studied this. He gives many examples.
Big companies like Amazon and Google run thousands of experiements every year. Do they fail a lot? You bet.
But they also come up with blockbuster ideas.
You don’t have to be a big company to play with possibilities. A man named Jia Jang confronted his fear of rejection. He did it by doing something that was likely to get him rejected every day for 100 days.
And these don’t have to huge. In fact, you can do a lot more by simplifying.
Don’t change everything about your diet at once. Instead, change one thing.
Don’t tackle your biggest issue to start. Find one part of it that you can start tackling first.
Give yourself permission to try things. If you fail, worst that can happen is you’ll fail. Even then you’ll learn things.
And sometimes, you’ll learn amazing things about yourself and what you can do!
